Dr. Matthew Gardner is a founder and Managing Partner of Sustainserv, a global management consulting firm that helps its clients understand, implement and communicate their sustainability aspirations. Founded in 2001 in Zurich, Switzerland and Boston, MA, the firm has since expanded to Frankfurt, Germany and Nashville, TN, and works with a wide variety of firms including Fortune 500 multinationals to regional companies that represent a wide variety of industries and all manner of challenges.
With a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Michigan State University, Gardner profoundly understands the value of sustainability education. In addition to his consulting career, he is a lecturer in sustainability strategy and entrepreneurship in the Sustainability and Environmental Management Program at the Harvard University Extension School. Before this, he was on staff at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral researcher and as the Executive Director of the Earth System Initiative.
